Digital evidence rarely stays in one place. An officer records an arrest on a body-worn camera. The file travels securely over a cellular network directly to a cloud server array, is organized into a master case file, and is eventually presented by a prosecutor in a courtroom.

At every stage of that journey, the file is exposed to real risk: unauthorized access, network interception, or corruption. A video sent across an open municipal Wi-Fi network without protection, or a forensic dump left exposed on a local drive, gives defense counsel grounds to challenge the integrity of the evidence. In more serious cases, victim details or officer records can be exposed to people who were never meant to see them.
